MIMOSA is not just a band; it’s a cultural manifesto that challenges geography and traditional musical boundaries. Led by Luiz Felipe Lucas, also known as Cabezadenego, together with producers Mbé and Leyblack, MIMOSA elevates the richness of Afro-Brazilian rhythms, blending tradition with contemporary global aesthetics. In 2024, MIMOSA moves through the sonic landscapes of modern Brazilian music, in tune with global trends and without geographical limits.

MIMOSA is a celebration of the historical failure to erase Afro-Brazilian culture. Every sound, every rhythm, serves as a reminder of the resilience of Black communities and a reaffirmation that their culture remains alive, vibrant, and constantly evolving. Candomblé, samba, funk carioca, and hip hop intertwine not just as musical genres but as expressions of identity, resistance, and spirituality.

The album, released in 2023 under the QTV label, was created during an artistic residency in Zaragoza, Spain, where the trio combined their talents to produce a work that transcends mere entertainment. With profound lyrics and productions that engage with drum’n’bass and other global electronic currents, MIMOSA offers a reflection on what it means to be Black in Brazil and in the world.

On their MIMOSA Euro Tour 2024, the band will bring this message to five European cities. Here are the confirmed dates and venues:

  • Barcelona (Espanha) - 27 de outubro, El Baile Todo (@elbailetodobcn)

  • Lisboa (Portugal) - 31 de octubre, Music Box (@musicboxlisboa)

  • Savona (Italia) - 1 de noviembre, Rain Dogs House (@raindogshousesavona)

  • Bruselas (Bélgica) - 2 de noviembre, VK Vaartkapoen (@vkvaartkapoen)

  • Utrecht (Holanda) - 8 de noviembre, Festival Le Guess Who? (@leguesswho)

Each performance promises to be an immersive experience where music, dance, and performance come together to tell stories of resistance and empowerment. More than concerts, MIMOSA transforms each stage into a contemporary ritual, connecting the ancestral with the modern and revealing how Afro-Brazilian culture continues to reinvent itself.
